MICA

Mica is a main part of heating elements. Mica is found in nature which is a hydrated alumino-silicate.

High-grade mica deposits exist in many parts of the worlds, particularly in India at Jharkhand state.

There are two types of mica found i.e. Muscovite and Phlogopite. The electrical properties of Muscovite, which is one of the best insulating materials, are superior to those of phlogopite, and in addition it is somewhat stronger mechanically and is harder and more flexible. The Phlogopite is softer than Muscovite and has poorer electrical properties and electrical resistance. The operating temperature of phlogopite is 800-900°C and Muscovite is 500-600°C.

MICANITE BOARD / MICA PAPER BOARD

Mica Paper board is a constituted muscovite mica paper, which impregnated, bonded with heat resisting silicone resin. Mica Paper are pressed under heat and high pressure to form rigid sheets.

Mica paper Board has good mechanical, electrical and thermal properties. It is hard and rigid, silver- brownish color. Mica Board withstand to 500°C continuous operating temperature. It occurs low smoke on initial heat first time.  Applications are base and covers plates for elements for Toasters,  Hair dryers, air heater, Electric Irons as well as many domestic appliances heating elements.

RESISTANCE WIRE

In the heating elements, the watts, heat and life are depend on the type of resistance wire.

Normally, two types of resistance wire used in the heating elements. Ferro- Chrome (Fe-Cr) and Nickel- Chrome (Ni-Cr).

Fe-Cr wire has magnetic properties and used at elements temperature up to 1300°C. It is used in domestic appliances elements as well as industrial applications.

Ni-Cr wire is a high grade austenitic Ni Cr alloy, which is used at the elements temperature up to 1200°C. Due to its non-magnetic character, malleability and strength at high temperature, excellent properties in the hot state and superior life compared to other heating alloy it is suited for the applications of electrical appliances elements.
