In the heating elements, the watts, heat and life are
depend on the type of resistance wire.
Normally, two types of resistance wire used in the heating elements. Ferro-
Chrome (Fe-Cr) and Nickel- Chrome (Ni-Cr).
Fe-Cr wire has magnetic properties and used at elements
temperature up to 1300°C. It is used in domestic appliances elements as well
as industrial applications.
Ni-Cr wire is a high grade austenitic Ni Cr alloy,
which is used at the elements temperature up to 1200°C. Due to its
non-magnetic character, malleability and strength at high temperature,
excellent properties in the hot state and superior life compared to other
heating alloy it is suited for the applications of electrical appliances
elements.
